In this emotional and powerful story, you will get to know Krishna. You will get to know him very well. In Asha (The Hope), you enter a world filled with the pungent sense of the East, only later to discover the dichotomy that it has become -- surrounded by Western values, fighting to retain her old-world culture. I resently had the good fortune to meet the author while I was on a Rotary Friendship Exchange in India. The lead in the book is the man I met: kind, thoughtful, determined, and with the unbelievable ability to envision the possible and then make it happen. The book is a delightful read, but more than that it demonstrates what can be accomplished by a person of vision and will power.

I've recently read a book 'Asha' which means hope. The author is Dr. Pravin Patel, a wonderful person and physician here in Las Vegas. I believe that all your advent readers in you're book club will desire to walk with Krishna through his personal journey of life. The pages of his story begins as Krishna takes his first breath in his dusty village back home in India, where upon his birth a strange mystical monk for told of his life to come. Krishna would know the loving kindness of his mother, cultural obligation, undertake great challenges both in business and personal, and stand with courageous character all the while living with the physical challenges of frail health. With all the romance novels written about women and their personal struggles, I encourage others to try 'Asha'. Look through a man's eyes and observe what it is for him to suffer tragic loss, the attainment of monumental succes, and then to digest betrayal, finding the strength and resilience to move forward again despite plaguing health conditions. Krishna is like the Phoenix bird arising again and again from the ashes, he won't be denied. Come and celebrate Krishna and his resilient soul as I did. Asha/ hope is a must read: let the jounery begin to take you away to another continent, filled with laughter, tears, and joy. Travel with Krishna and let your heart be filled with the pages of his life. Gena Reyes

Asha transports the reader to the travails of the leading character, Krishna in his journey of idealism and self-actualization. The irony of life plays out for him as he is enmeshed in the very ideologies that he as a young man inexorably tried to reject. As we all do on our journey in life, Krishna meets people to teach the lessons of life! Nisha taught him about the beauty and power of unconditional love. Their love was as pure as snow and as translucent as driving rain. At times I identified myself with Krishna the eternal idealist always wanting to see the best in people. Sadly, he experiences some bitter-sweet encounters in his personal life and in business and learns the lesson much later. Retrospectively in life one realizes that the universe presents people and situations for karmic reasons or destiny to use the authors word. Asha tugs the heart and evokes a myriad of emotions sadness, sympathy, respect, empathy, joy and exultation. Also, one cannot help but want to play many roles in Krishnas journey mother/nurturer, sister, counselor, friend and lover anything to make him feel loved and whole. The cruel hand of cultural circumstance tragically ends the beautiful love-story between Krishna and Nisha but never their love! For this reason, he relentlessly yearns for the love he shared with his beloved where he was fulfilled emotionally, mentally, spiritually and physically. In real-life in ones life-time one should feel blessed to have encountered such a soul. However, he continues searching perhaps to the point of romanticism! What stands out for me in Asha is the authors ability to engage and captivate the reader from the beginning to the end. Krishnas indomitable spirit and the gift to forgive his transgressors clearly indicate that he was in touch with the deeper mysteries of his being! A MUST read!

When I read this noval I was so captured by author's immense strength, courage & forgiveness through his journey of life fighting for his faith, values & belief systems in the family & community . I felt like I wanted to be with him through his struggles. I was so engrossed in this book that I sat up till late at night to finish it. At times tears flowed in my eyes as I could feel the main character Krishna's pain, struggles, sacrifices, successes & most of all true love. I learnt the meaning of true love. He puts everyone before him. he narrates that behind painful negative events positive bigger adventurous events unfold & he strives for impossible to happen-HOPE wins. This book is a must for everyone- it's such a beautiful book full of emotions and inspirations. It has touched me tremendously what true love, forgiveness and Hope is.

Asha"( HOPE) is touching and inspiring. With "Asha" Dr.Patel weaves the odyssey of one of the most unique characters in modern literature. He understands the Art to connect us with the essence of our deepest feelings, emotions and values, which slumber in our inner being, In Asha, the main character lives many lives in one life, sacrificing everything he loved most for the ego of the man. When I read Asha, I felt life and its true meaning. He succeeded to carry me away with all my senses in this stirring life story, with east-west cultures, where he fights for his beliefs, faith and undying hope for decades, which simultaneously invited me to consider my own life and look into myself, understanding the meaning of love, forgiveness and importance of hope. Asha is not simply a fiction, but it is the journey of one human, who is constantly trying to be a better human with his undying hope.

A consciousness opened how much we can bear as humanbeing and that behind all daily events, either painful or not, a bigger more elevating adventurous plan reveals. It reveals that every negative event has a positive side and is heading towards most meaningful events. This book inspired me to approach my values and priorities more with heart and hope, knowing that the best result is in sight. To know what is his hope, you must read Asha. ASHA will be a gift for all generations. Nadira Bhaggan, therapist

This is an emotional story of a man, Krishna, who fights for his beliefs, for his faith, for his love and for hope. One mans survival over decades of many strugg les and successes. You travel with him from a village in remote India, through Canada and then to the U.S. It is a powerful and inspirational journey of survival, determination, and belief. I found myself hooked on this book, sharing with him his joys and sorrows. One couldn't help but have feelings of wanting to be there for him during his times of struggles and wanting to celebrate the time of his successes. This is truly an inspirational story--a story of HOPE.
